On a bowling-friendly Mirpur pitch, Bangladesh faced early trouble after being put in to bat in the second T20I. However, a resilient partnership between Sheikh Mehedi Hasan and Zaker Ali Anik helped the Tigers recover. Zaker stood out with a composed and crucial innings, notching up 55 runs before being dismissed in the final over — a knock that laid the foundation for Bangladesh’s competitive total of 133 runs in 20 overs.
That total proved enough, as Bangladesh secured an 8-run victory to seal a historic T20I series win against Pakistan. Speaking at the post-match press conference, Zaker Ali emphasized that only match-winning performances matter to him.
“Yes, match-winning innings are very important. I don’t count anything else,” Zaker said. “No matter how well I play, I don’t count it if the team doesn’t win. But today, I was able to contribute, and I’ll count this one.”

Zaker Ali also shared insights into his six-hitting ability, crediting his development to past work with batting coach Mohammad Salahuddin during the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) two years ago.
“The process I follow now is the same one I practiced during the BPL,” he explained. “I do a lot of extra work outside the regular sessions. I’ve made a few changes since then — those are things I worked on with our batting coach back then.”
Zaker’s dedication and focus on team-first performance have clearly paid off, playing a pivotal role in one of Bangladesh’s most memorable T20I victories.
