Ireland have named a 15-man Test squad for their tour of Bangladesh next month, featuring five potential debutants, while Mark Adair and Josh Little are fit to return for the T20I series that follows.
After missing Ireland’s recent T20Is against England due to injuries, the return of senior seamers Adair (post-knee surgery) and Little (recovering from a side injury) provides a significant boost as the team gears up for next year’s T20 World Cup.
The Test series will be only Ireland’s second multi-match Test tour. Maiden call-ups include top-order batters Cade Carmichael and Stephen Doheny, allrounder Jordan Neill, left-arm seamer Liam McCarthy, and legspinner Gavin Hoey. The squad will be led by Andy Balbirnie, with Ireland coming off three consecutive Test wins since February 2024.
Selector Andrew White said, “It is fantastic to have Test cricket on the horizon. Cade Carmichael has shown the composure and technical ability required at this level, while Stephen Doheny has made strong technical strides this season. Managing our seamers across back-to-back Tests in hot, humid conditions will be a challenge, but one the squad is ready for.”

The T20I squad mirrors the one that faced England, with the additions of Adair, Little, and batter Tim Tector. To accommodate them, Jordan Neill and seamer Graham Hume have been omitted. White added, “Spin will likely play a more prominent role in T20s, so Gareth Delany, Matthew Humphreys, and Ben White provide key options. The 15-player squad allows us to add Tim Tector while keeping Ben Calitz for middle-order depth.”
