Indian cricket star Ravichandran Ashwin has confirmed he will be available for the entire Sydney Thunder KFC BBL | 15 season, including the Finals series. Initially signed only for the January portion, Ashwin has extended his commitment to cover all Thunder home matches at ENGIE Stadium as well as both games at Manuka Oval.
Ashwin will make history on December 16 as the first capped male Indian player to appear for a BBL club when Sydney Thunder faces the Hobart Hurricanes in a BBL|14 Final rematch. He will make his home debut in the Sydney Smash on December 20.

Trent Copeland, Sydney Thunder General Manager, said Ashwin’s full-season decision is an exciting boost for the club and its fans. Copeland highlighted that bringing Ashwin for the entire campaign was always the goal and praised his commitment, leadership, and ability to inspire the Thunder community. He added that the club looks forward to welcoming Ashwin to Western Sydney in December.
